Embark on a journey through time, ancient landscapes and untamed coastline on this small group tour of Tasmania. Breathe the world’s cleanest air and be inspired by your traditional custodian guide with 2 nights on an Aboriginal owned and operated walk through the home of the Palawa people.
Day 1 Launceston
On arrival in Launceston you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Meet your fellow travellers over drinks and canapes this evening.
Days 2-3 The Wukalina Walk
This two-night Aboriginal-owned exclusive guided walk takes you through the magnificent landscapes of the Bay of Fires and Mt William, the cultural homeland of the Palawa people. Your Palawa guide will take you in the footsteps of their traditional people and immerse you in the natural, rugged beauty of Wukalina and Larapuna. You’ll spend two nights in bespoke, Palawa-inspired domed sleeping huts.
Day 4 Freycinet
After breakfast visit Eddystone Point Lighthouse before heading down the south east coast to Coles Bay and the Freycinet National Park. The natural beauty of this region is simply magnificent. The peninsula is defined by the pink granite of the Hazards mountain range, the rugged coastline of Schouten Island and gentle white crescent curves of Wineglass Bay.
Day 5 Hobart
Enjoy a leisurely start to the day before departing for Hobart. On arrival at the world-renowned Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) engage in an ‘art meets wine’ experience. This occasionally controversial museum sits on the banks of the River Derwent and is Australia’s largest privately-owned gallery and museum. After lunch explore MONA’s subterranean galleries followed by a behind the scenes tour of Moorilla Estate Winery. Savour 10 tastings before taking the ferry to Hobart’s Constitution Dock. This evening is free for you to explore Hobart.
Day 6 Bruny Island
Take the ferry across the calm d’Entrecasteaux Channel to Bruny Island where morning tea awaits before your island cruise departs. The cruise of Brunt Island will take in some of Australia’s highest sea cliffs, deep sea caves and marine life including seals, dolphins and perhaps even migratory whales. Head back to shore for lunch and a sunset.
