Days 1-3  Perth

On arrival in Perth you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel for a 3-night stay.

Perth offers an enticing start to any Australian holiday. Enjoy the sunny outdoor lifestyle with cruises along the Swan River, lazy brunches on gleaming white sand beaches or hop over to Rottnest Island, an idyllic spot that is home to the quokka, a marsupial unique to the island.

Days 4-5  Margaret River

Depart Perth for the south west. You’ll have 2 nights to explore one of Australia’s finest wine regions, which is home to a plethora of award-winning wineries and craft breweries plus spectacular beaches, a thriving arts scene and some of the world’s tallest hardwood trees.

Day 6  Perth

Return to Perth for one last night.

Days 7-8 The Indian Pacific

Board the Indian Pacific train for a mid-morning departure from Perth. Enjoy a regionally inspired lunch as the train heads through the soft green hills of the Avon Valley before the landscape flattens into desert plains. Your second day aboard is spent crossing the mighty Nullabor Plain with arrival in Adelaide the following morning. Off train experiences are included in Kalgoorlie and Rawlinna.

Day 9-10 Adelaide

On arrival in Adelaide make your way to your hotel. Your time here is free to explore; perhaps join a tour to the Barossa Valley or Kangaroo Island.

Day 11 Mt Gambier

You’ll be collected for the start of your small group journey to Melbourne. Travelling with no more than 8 other guests you’ll explore the Adelaide Hills and Hahndorf before heading into wine country where you’ll have chance to sample some of the finest Cabernet Sauvignon around.

Day 12 Great Ocean Road

Cross the state border into Victoria towards the Shipwreck Coast. Visit Port Fairy before calling into the Tower Hill Reserve, where hopefully you’ll get to see emu’s, koalas, kangaroos and echidnas. The Great Ocean Road starts with the impressive stacks of Bay of Martyrs and Bay of Islands, you’ll also visit London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge. At the Twelve Apostles there’s opportunity to take a scenic helicopter flight (own expense) over the coastline.

Day 13 Melbourne

After breakfast visit the Otway National Park and follow the easy trail through cool, temperate rainforest past trees and ferns dating back millions of years.
